As an artist-calligrapher,
I’m drawn to the physical act of mark-making—the scratch of a nib, the way ink flows across paper. Calligraphy taught me to work quickly, capturing spontaneity in each stroke.
Printmaking, by contrast, is slower and more deliberate. Etching, engraving and carving into copper leaves little room for error, so each mark requires intention. This shift in pace has deepened my appreciation for slow, thoughtful work.
Inking and wiping each print by hand has also connected me to the rhythm of production. Every impression I pull from the press is slightly different, and I’ve come to enjoy the care that goes into making each print.
I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy creating it.
